I look like I've dropped off the face of the earth, but first year life is crazy! Not stressed at all though! I have to get back to doing my homework, but first here's something in the schedule of Sarah Brightman's Symphony World Tour.... Nov 19 Washington, D.C. Verizon Center www.ticketmaster.com 202-397-7328 WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! *explanation* Nov 19 is my *cough cough* And WASHINGTON DC IS THE NEAREST CITY! (by 2 hours) AND IT'S A WEDNESDAY. A.K.A SCHOOL DAY. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Cheap tickets should probably have sold out by now, though. :( And hopefully she'll go to Singapore somewhere between may and aug.... But there are still reasons to love UVA: - I lost my PENCIL BOX WITH MY IPOD INSIDE AND SOMEONE FOUND IT ON THE SAME DAY, FOUND MY NAME IN MY THUMBDRIVE, CONTACTED ME ON FACEBOOK, AND GAVE IT TO THE LOST AND FOUND COUNTER, AND I GOT IT AT 8 IN THE MORNING. LESS THAN 24 HOURS MAN. AND I'VE LOST 2 GCs IN NJ, which is 1/100th the size of UVA - My art folder broke on the way back from the bookstore, and they let me have a new one without even looking at the receipt. and a new piece of (expensive) paper which got bent when it broke. I apologize for the lack of pics of this BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS (where only the ducks are scared of me) but I haven't even downloaded my cam's pics from like a month ago so haha. And i still cna't figure mac out. There are chipmunks here as well! ~feeling extremely random.

:(:( To combimatez, my three of my five small non-lethal fishes (aka ru, audwey and mich), 1/2 of chiastic rhyme who got stuck in nus law and med and fass (aka xiang, maeyue, jia and tammiez) and the ny pple, lianhua pple and the choir pple (especially benghee who had better take care of my FX lightsaber) and everyone coming to send me off (muacks) and NJIP... (especially geog people who better tell me what ocean it is... and dot, that ocean touches chile which is NOT in argentina... I wanted to put bei ban qiu here but I realised I would be in the northern hemisphere as well... and as a ETGS I can't go against what I know to be true...) (ok, i know, excuses, excuses. But this song is really nice.) Only an Ocean Away To the Hope people, s.o.l.f. people, and faith/agape/flame people, auntie adine, the kaos(moooo), esther, and my whole family.. The Prayer And finally, to senior minister tan, cheryl, wiggo, shari and tessa, phoeb, and the remaining two fishies kel and jas, ah foo, yong sheng, big-eye mr tan junyan, aka everyone else going overseas....(and this vid shows quite a bit of other countries like japan for junying) "...it's time to go now, time to wave hello now!" I am so going to cry later. 7.5 more hours till i reach the airport. And I can't afford a uva rocking chair for everybody, so don't ask me for it. |

Argh the girls in the new show are so sissy! (Ok that probably isn't the right word, since girls are supposed to be GIRLy) but seriously, screaming when you touch a dead cuttlefish?! Or a frog? I bloody kissed one during YLTC!(And no, it didn't die on me) What shameful specimens of feminity the mass media (if the actresses were forced to act that way) are showing today. Grrr. They should cook more often, and get their hands on raw meat and livers and gizzards. Live prawns are the best I know how to do drunken prawns if anyone will just tell me where to get live prawns. The market just sells dead ones. ++++++ /endrant The other part of this post doesn't really concern Balls, and if there are babes, they certainly aren't me. I have turned into some sort of exercise (*gasp*) junkie, and am going further east each time. Last mon, I went to ECP with Shao and Wiggo, (and taught them how to roller blade, hee hee), and last fri to Pasir Ris park with Hope people to cycle. (For those not versed with Singapore's geography, ECP is in Bedok which is more west than Pasir Ris by a few MRT stops.) And on Mon, I went off the coast into Pulau Ubin to Mountain bike with J.JC collagues and the female colleague's boyfriend. And I was ERHEMING at that time, on the heaviest day too. I thought the extra PADDING would be good for sitting on the hard bike, but the jolting when you ride over rough ground really unseats (pun intended) a certain part of your anatomy and the accompanying fluids. And I didn't know how much stomach muscles were needed to cycle. ARGH. Still, I survived, with a break in the middle where they drank coconuts and I drank hot milo. Ok, now onto more slightly intellectual things. You know how there's this thing called a pain threshold? Where the amount of pain people can bear till they scream/whimper/pass out with a bang is somehow 'measured'. Personally, I don't mind blood coming out of my body anywhere else but you-know-where. (Anyone who has seen the photocopied version of my Duchess of Malfi and Heart of Darkness can attest to that.) I would now like to propose an 'exercise threshold', the amount of physical exertion that someone can exert before the person thinks it's too much physical exertion to do so. Needless to say, mine is terribly small. I gave up on the million (uphill) slopes of Ubin, but in the end, still had enough energy to stay awake and snigger at all my exhausted sleeping companions and take unflattering pictures of them. And read 'Reaper Man' on the way back. And with this theory in mind, I asked if the reason why people stopped exertion sometimes was because they could not catch their breath, and they said yes, which means my exercise threshold is really low because I've never had problems breathing when I wasn't having a flu, with my (yes I'm boasting but this is one of the things I can boast about besides my BOASTER and pillow haha) rather good breath control. Muahahahaha.

I've been thinking about what I want to do in uni, and looking up all the courses and everything. Since the arrangement currently works like this - it's just a no-interest loan - I have to pay my parents back everything - They'll just minus the cost of attending NUS/the offered scholarship, which I just glibly rounded up to '50k'. Which means, S$55k x 3(or 4) - S$50k which means.... urgh. However, since I'm an only child..... Anyway, taking business would give me greater returns than taking history or some 'artsy' thing, a fact rather irritatingly true. Muai dear combimates have reacted in kind to 'Priscilla the Businesswoman', though, so.... However, beeingz muai euzual bwilliant selwf, I, in the dark recesses of muai dizeazed mindz, habz comez upz wib some bwillian bwisnezz ideaz... 1. The Aral sea-salt factory! I think only geog or history students would know about this. The 4th largest inland sea in the world has shrunk because of the dammation (The building of dams on its feeder rivers, word coined by yours truly.) and siphoning off of water. As a result, there are large swathes of salt where the sea used to be! As a result, muai factowee can have many good impacts, gibbing the people of Muynuk (once a flourishing fishing town, now with no safe drinking water and livelihoods) jobz, and if part of the purification process requires distillation of some sort, they can get clean dwinkingz waterz as well! With all the sand in the desert too, I wouldn't need to make plastic bags/paper boxes to put the salt in, we can habz glass containers! Muahahahahahahahah! 2. The Oldies/Broadway restaurant! Oldies = old songs not old people. Young are highly welcome. What this means is that the food will be based on songs. Eg. Scaborough Fair = some kind of lamb stew because lamb goes well with parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. (And ooo they played this song in KAP cold storage the other day, and it was Sarah Brightman singing it too!) Strawberry Fields Forever = just getting it from the title alon = some kind of strawberry dessert. Lemon Tree= I'm thinking some kind of meringue Pennylane fish fingers = there's some mention of fish or finger or fries somewhere i nthe song. (Ok as you all know, my knowledge in this field is quite limited, so we're off to broadway now) POTO Masquerade = I keep on thinking 'paper faces on parade' = 'paper faces on a plate'. Some kind of popiah-cut out or fried shaped keropok? Little Lotte spoke of chocolates (*looks around hopefully*) Mamma Mia! Honey, honey= Aha, honey honey. Ok now I have to link this to 'love machine'. Waterloo sounds a bit disgusting for a drink though. Les Miserables has loads of food- related songs, since the guy stole a loaf of bread and got into prison, but they're either terribly unlucky-sounding (Empty Chairs at Empty Tables), or disgusting in the disgusting way ("Food beyond compare, food beyind belief. Mix it in a mincer and pretend it's beef! Kidney of a horse, Liver of a cat, Filling up the sausages with this and that! ") or in THAT way ("...seven days at sea can make you hungry for a poke") Oliver! Okay, this one's slightly better, with things like 'Who will buy?' Just have to figure out how to put grinding knives to strawberries, milk and roses. ++++++ MUNG! Can I bez bwisnesswomanz? ++++++ Anyway, running a restaurant is hard - t.h.e.s.i.m.p.l.e.l.i.f.e. just closed down, not because of bad business or anything, just that the landlord wanted them out, along with fish and co. Oh well, they still have their franchisees in Japan and Indonesia, I hope. Ah the good ol' days of PW. |

Things I did just before I got my neck cut: Outing with colleagues from: ! Hike from Bukit Timah, starting at the bridge Junyan called a 'tunnel' all the way to Macritchie, and then all the way to ARE-JAY-SEE. WHERE WE BATHED. Which is quite an accomplishment, considering that: I was wearing that on purpose. And we still got in without a hitch though I was very nervous about getting caught. Made up excuses about going to find my cousin (who had her phone off arghhh) or Ms Ng and the lot, but didn't have to use them. Hahahaha. Some 'pro' photos from me: And at the finish line in Macritchie though we walked to RJ after that... The worst thing about the whole thing is when I went home and weighed myself and discovered that I hadn't lost a single gram. Well it must have been the huge bowl of tom yam la mian and kaya waffle and 100-plus that I had. Also, can you spot the face of macritchie? No? How about this? Still not clear enough? This, then. Muahahahahhaha! Event 2: IP gathering! Only went for the dinner, where my disease of gastronomicus adventurus got hold of me, and I ordered eel porridge, which sucked. This disease has failed me many times in the past, with instances too many to count, but one of the good things I remember that came from it was my discovery of sukiyaki, the jap hotpot thing, with the ingredients that you have to dip in raw egg. Yeah only the drinks were worth taking pics of. *OK BRACE YOURSELVES HERE IT COMES* I went shopping after that. Charm was so shocked she made me repeat 'Can we go shopping?' twice. Bought a pair of jeans from forever 21, my first purchase ever from that shop, which is an achievement for me. I'll have to alter it though, because I'm short. MUNGZ. |

Say hi to my new neck! I know, I have horrible zipai skills. Goodbye, advanced congenital torticollis! Er.. ok, I know you can't see it right now. And I know it looks like I'm not wearing anything, but my infamous purple tube's the only thing that I can wear from the other way up. I only can receive visitors from next week, and have to stay at home for a total of 3 weeks. GAH. Visitors will be welcomed and events planned at my house the next and following week. Visitors will be most welcomed if they have flowers, condolences, chicken essence, food with them. :D

My trip to the 'fortress' opposite Gleneagles went as follows: 1. Got out of car at mum's office, walked there at nine. 2. Did all the necessary things to get in, showing passport, forms, etc, went through a metal detector. 3. Went through the 2nd security checkpoint. Guard said turn left, and left again, so I went generally leftwards in a spiralling tangent. 4. Ended up in the room for 'American Citizen Services'. Got rescued by a middle-aged ang moh who turned me left again into the visa room. (Hey.. this is pretty normal for me..) 5. Took a number after some deliberation on which button to press. Sat down to wait. 6. Went to pay and present forms. Sat down to wait. 7. Went to take fingerprints. Sat down to wait. 7.5 While waiting, noticed that guy at a certain counter was the friendliest. 7.5.1 A certain girl who wanted to go to film school at some 'florida university' - he went = 'I've never heard of it!' but he said it in a friendly way. 7.5.2 Noticed all of the people applying for the visas were PRs/ had Indian or Chinese passports. 7.5.3 Yay he's holding the form with my face on it! 8. (transcript - as much as I can remember) Guy: So you're going to UVA? Me: (thinks: Wow he knows my school and used the acronym even though it says University of Virginia!) Yup! Guy: What are you going to study? Me: Probably History. Guy: (does funny face) A woman after my own heart. So it'll be 4 years? Me: 3 or 4. Guy: Why 3? Me: Oh, well, AP credit and everything.. Guy: (conspirational whisper) Even if you did those AP courses it's good to do them again in college because it's way better than what you did in high school. Me: O_o ok! Guy: Hmm... where's your financial guarantee form? Me: Oh the school prepared me one (points to form) Guy: (shocked face) No no no! We can't accept that because some people send fake information to the schools! Do you have a bank statement or something? Me: (pretends to look) Urmmmmmmmmm.... Guy: How much do your parents have in the bank? Me: URRRRMMMMMMMMM..... $XXXK? Guy: Yeah but we really need to look at the bank book or something. (Hands me a yellow form with GOH scrawled on it) So you can come back with the requisite documents any other day from 11:30 to 11:45... Me: Can I do it today? Guy: If you can make it back here in half-an-hour.. Me: Yup! No problem. 9. Dashed back to mum's office at Tanglin Place to find the only bank book that she had was one showing only $900+. I would be better off showing off my bank acocunt. Badgered the IR8A (income tax) form for 2007 out of her and ran back to the embassy. 10. Went through whole process of going in again. Receptionist gave me a knowing look when she saw the yellow form. 11. Dashed up to same guy with IR8A form. Guy: Oooo I remember you! Did you bring my bank statement? Me: No, but I've got the income tax form which shows income for 2007..... Guy: Noooo that shows what came in, but not what you have now! People spend their salaries! Me: (thinks -_-" Wahlau he can take KI) Guy: *apologizes for making me run around* 12. Walked back to Tanglin Place dejectedly under a weeping sky. 13. Looked at mum's bank book in case the $900 magically became $900K. 14. Mum tries something with citibank card online to show investments. 15. Resolved to give it a try for 'exercise'. 16. WAH ALR 11:44 17. Run run run run run run run run run 18. Receptionist: Did you manage to get in the last time?!?!?!?!? Me: Yeah, the person said it wasn't enough.. Receptionist 0_os and lets me in. 19. Guy: OOOOOOO_______________oooooo Me: I've got something from the bank! *pushes paper in* Guy: YAY!!!!!!! Me: *pant pant* Guy: OK YAY YOU CAN GET YOUR VISA COME BACK ON THURS FROM 2:30 to 3:30 Me: YAY!!!! Guy: You really earned this trip to UVA! Me: *smile smile pant pant* Guy: Would you like to come again in 20 mins? (HE WAS JOKING LA, YOU.) ++++++ Yup! I pampered myself with chicken chop and carrot apple juice after that hahaha.

Technically, I should have finished work last friday, but we know how hectic JC life can be. (And we would be able to have finished if it weren't for the darn camp they had - I know how to plan lessons perfectly, ok.) There is indeed a stark disparity - I guess one thing useful that IP students have is 'crapability' - something that J(x2) students really need - the ability to make something insubstantial seem better than the real thing itself. Also, I guess we are quite fortunate to have had the 'spirit of learning' cultivated into us since young - Don't gasp - What I mean is the natural curiosity about things that we have, no matter how random - Reggie has his weird gadgets, Tan Shao Min has things like greek and roman civilisations, Charm at least reads, a lot of IP people think quite deeply about religion, and I used to be crazy about horses, wolves, (american) indian tribes... it's the attitude we have to discovering the world that makes people more knowledgeable. All my students seem to care about (judging from their actions and essays) are BGRs(And they don't even seem to know what it entails, except with some 'rituals'), cheesy pop rock songs, and just hanging out. Well, hanging out would have done them some good if they attempted, say, to analyse the make-up of each shopping centre or something, and at least just ponder the reason why food always seems to be in the basement or the top level, which would at least stimulate their analytical capabilities and allow them to gain some GENERAL knowledge. It seems that what we are now is the direct result of what we were as kids - or how we were intellectually stimulated as kids. I still can name a few american indian tribes and tell you a few characteristics - Pocahontas, by the way, is an Alongquin (sp?) and used to live in the VIRGINIA area. (Yes there was such a person, not only in Disney) - and I've been 'cultivating' my portrayal of members of the equine race since I was three. Well they do seem irrelevant to most academic subjects, but as I wrote in my uni essay, one step of being intrigued will spread to all the other areas of development, (unless one really hates something like math/science, though I do know more than some of my students about science. Sigh.)And I was quite the zoologist when I was younger. And all that collection of random knowledge seems to have paid off as I teach GP, though I seemed to have shocked them with my discussion about the different ways people were hanged when we were playing hangman. In a way, my students were 'doomed' since young. Though, of course, it seems ludicrous to say that a person's fate is decided from young, in a way, it is true, in a downward-spiral way. Unless they work really hard these 2 years, or are incredibly lucky, I do not see any As coming from any of my classes.

WARGH. I TYPED A WHOLE CHUNK JUST NOW AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT IT DISAPPEARED. AND NO THEY'RE NOT IN WHITE INK. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Anyway, I think this is what I said... ++++++ I want to blog about a lot of things, such as the worst and one of the best church camps I've ever attended, my analysis of my favourite singer (no prizes for guessing who), work, uni, encounters with random people, litwing outing (ZOMG THAT WAS ON LABOUR DAY), my lack of funds, a guide to Teddish etc, but there is some thing that I really really need to blog about... Damn. I can't remember. But I knew it was important. Anyway, I think I shall use livejournal to type the post next time because of the draft feature. Ok that was a totally inane post. Shall post the things that I wrote that I wanted to post in other posts. ++++++ Oh... and... Dear _______ Thank you for applying for the HUS Scholarship. (2008 HOME AFFAIRS UNIFORMED SERVICES SCHOLARSHIPS) 2 ______ have carefully evaluated your application and regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you a scholarship. It was a difficult decision to make as many applications were received and the competition was very keen. 3 ______ appreciate the effort you have put into your application and your interest in our scholarship. ______ wish you every success as you continue with your education. O_o. I have a hazy memory of putting it down for the PSC thing.... Anyway, I DIDN'T GET NTU. HAHAHAHA. Considering that I told them that I didn't want to go on the phone... Mung. My bwain is fwied.

With all the uni posts around, I think I should post some intelligent posts about uni too, other than what they sell in their bookstores. ++++++ So far (I lost the website for checking acceptance thingiez can anyone enlighten me?) I've got FASS, big surprise, wow, since I put Law, Biz and Architeture (which requires h2 math) as my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th choices. No news from NTU, but considering that I didn't go for any of their interviews - I turned the linguistics thing down flat because it's not worth giving up $65 for the leave I would have to take, and the mass comm dept contacted me so late - and I was overseas for church camp for the first one, and couldn't make it for the 2nd one again for another reason - (Ooo it's God's plan!) - I wouldn't expect anything from them too. It seems strange now that there seem to be so few people going overseas, given the number of applicants that applied. I feel that we have somehow scoffed too much at the whole process - saying 'oh, it's so easy,' and not bothering about much, but reality seems to have hit - a friend with 3 As didn't get chem eng, (ok I have no idea how popular that is), tessa chia got eng too (MUAHAHAHHAHA NOW SHE HAS TO GO UVA WIB ME NAOW MUAHAHHAHAHA) and my students told me that they don't think they can go to uni. I had also applied to 'only' 4 US unis, 1 Can uni unlike the 8 that most people did, thinking that I could get into all except for middlebury and that all i needed to do was to compare financial aid offers. Well, in the end, I only got one, and Middlebury waitlisted me, but I didn't send any extra info after that, because I felt that if I was really meant to go there, they would accept me with what I had, (and the purpose it serves now is as an ego booster because Tan Shao Min got waitlisted too.) UBC scared me off somewhat at their info session - I don't know why, but it really felt wrong, so I've not continued my application. What a waste of $150. So my next big decision's on what to take. Though originally I thought of taking Hist/Intl relations, the sudden discovery that UVA's undergraduate business school's the 2nd best in the US after Wharton (shari can attest to that) changes the plan somewhat. Now I will have to find out whether cross departmental double degrees cost the same as just a single degree or an intra department double. If it's the same, I think because I'm doing something highly practical, my other degree will be something super impractical, like music or whatever. Hahahaha. They're not reknown for music, but then again, with my standard, knowing how to vibrato/sing really properly (YES I'VE BEEN FAKING MY VOICE ALL ALONG GOT ALL OF YOU HA.)(Ok that's just speculation on my part on whther a female head voice can be called a falsetto) is gutz for mez. Well, and yes, I want to do something like that so that I will not fall into the trap of being normal! Muahahahahhahahahahhahahaha! Ok, that paraphrased properly is: It's quite interesting to see how people put their interests down for the sake of practicality - I remember someone telling me about Clara ____(?!), the student of the year in 200(4?), that was a super pro student that defied the NY tradition of going to HC to take art in NJ, and was going to do arts in uni, but finally succumbed to (Cambridge? Oxford?) Law (Or was it political science?). Something along those lines anyway. Some people are blessed with practical interests - I call Tan Shao Min's theoretical physics practical but she disagrees, though. That's why sometimes I admire Cheryl (Lim) for sticking to her guns (I mean, violin) and going all the way. But then, being moderately richer helps. Anyway, I hope you get into a school of your choice this time, and you can come visit me if you're freezing to death like Tan Shao Min will in minnesota. I hope I won't be swayed again by practicality (I nearly took the MOE thing), but now I really have to find what I really want to do next time, since the A lvls were a big bowl ( i prefer bowl to blow and they sound the same, so...) to some of my aspirations. Still, I guess God will make all apparent when the time comes. Meanwhile, I just have to enjoy my first year! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. |

I guess it's time for a new entry. And my oscillation for my mood swings are really huge - 180 degrees apart. (No I'm not that stupid as to say 360 degrees.) 'Sad' things first so that i can end on a higher note: 1. I'm feeling a lot more jealous nowadays over petty things. It's not the kind of 'Waaaa wai she hab ipod touch i dun hab' kind, but of a more sinister kind. However, they're really so petty that they can be used in burgers. And they're petty because I don't even want them in the first place, or know that I'll never get them with what I'm doing. 2. 4 more days (barring extra lessons) left till my time at JJ€ ends. That school has made me gain 3 kg. (Eh wait, then it should be a happy thing that I'm leaving, right?) Though some students are horrible, I've generally enjoyed my time there but - teaching's not for me as a lifetime job. It's a good thing I called them up again after I turned them down, or in all likelihood I would be stuck 4 years ruining my voice. 2.1 . Students are not getting what they deserve - which are straight failures. The school is being too nice to them. But I guess it's their only chance to get grades like that - I was telling them the inverse relationship between SATs and A Levels - used the usual ones of getting 2320-4Bs and 1980-perfect score, and they were like 'But 4Bs very good what.' . Maybe it should be a curve? I gave them my SAT score, because they are all dying to know my A level scores, but I told them I was one of the outliers/exceptions. Can Tan Shao min help me gather data and plot a graph? 2.2 . Quote by someone else: 'All of them don't understand. And when they don't understand, they don't make the effort to understand.' Sleeping in class once or twice is fine, but not every single class, right? And the irrelevant noise! GAH. I wouldn't say I was the perfect student (extremely far from it) but they make weijun look like an ant. (For the industriousness, not the size.) And my disruptions were more intellectual than playing songs on handphones. (Frontal lobes, yo? Oh I almost forgot the fart bomb in history.) Ah well, why am I even bothering in the first place. (As I've told them: Slack your life away, if that's what you want.) However, it can't be entirely attributed to them - their average timetable ends much later than mine, breaks are shorter, and activities are a dime a dozen, including camps in the middle of term (GAH) but it's their fault for joining so many. /end rant I, Goh Shu Xian Priscilla, pledge to always pay attention in class, and not talk loudly and unnecessarily in class, and keep my irritations of teachers relevant to the lesson unless instructed otherwise. (Ms 0on did want to plant the fart bomb under Wo0n jeck...) Happy things: 1. Randomness worx! (Random things are things which make me happy worx!) UVA merchandise includes rocking chairs, aprons, plates, baby strollers, 10K gold earrings, watches, tank tops (so it's America and they encourage them?!?!), martini glasses, JELLY BEANS (I'LL BUY YOU SOME DOT), golf balls (CLAWAWA!), billiard balls, napkins, balloons, leather duffel bags with the embossed seal, flags, license plates, bumper stickers (for weijun and her KIA), baby bibs and booties, ....... just that you'll go broke trying to buy all of them. Haha. Well, at least the University of Virginia shirts which I can put Cheng on are affordable. And the refridgerators are affordable too - about S$150 for a brand new one - hope the 2nd hand ones will be cheaper. 2. 4 more days left to school - I can finally have some life (I know, what life do I have anyway) again! I want to catch up with everyone before Aug! 3. I would like to announce the happy news that I NO LONGER SNEEZE. (Ok that's an overgeneralization but not more than once a day on average now! Unless it's a virus, of course, like H5N1) And I think I'm turning slightly anti-PRC: a PRC went up to the donations booth that was collecting for the cyclone and earthquake and told the club that they should collect the funds separately because he wanted to donate only to China. (GAH. Never marry a chinaman.) |

One reason I haven't been blogging much about work is because they keep on raising the 'controversial topic' of teachers and blogs that they have put on the agenda of two consecutive staff meetings. So.. I'd better not write about how any particular class drives me crazy or anything, especially after a certain tirade from a certain ex- hwa chong (hah I can diss that school all I want because I'm supposed to be affiliated to it) person. The field has superb acoustics, by the way, and a MAKTAAAAAABBBBBBB SEDIIIIAAAAAAAAHHHHHH can be heard echoing twice around the entire neighbourhood even without any artificial means of projection. If it were NJ I'd stand there and sing everyday after school, man. I can't now because I'm not in uniform and they have very little appreciation for music. (Or at least, the kind that I consider music) No piano in canteen, waa. Still, I have been practicing a as stressless as I can get approach the dio way - a.k.a. heck care lah. Just that they have to - it does say something about the school if they harp on 'discipline' as a reason why people from 20 overseas schools want to come to the college instead of the quality of education - and results in them feeling bad about themselves and writing essays about how bad they are when they told me the cut-off point was 13, which is quite high considering some of the people I know with 24 and 25 something scores for PSLE got 16 points. Vicious circle, worx? ++++++ Ok all that contradicted my earlier statement. ++++++ Anyway, it's LITERARY WING NOT LITERATURE WINGGGGGG. Did tell the school that but I guess they already had the medals printed. Asian kitchen is surprisingly good, though slightly dry, and the skin on the xiao long bao dries up really fast for the red bean paste one but at least the red bean paste isn't too sweet or too oily. The mango sago is good too, thick, without slivers of ice. Just that my wallet can't really take these sort of things every single week cos I'm saving up for uni. (Yep, UVA! They just confirmed my deposit :)) ++++++ And once more, the unthinkable happened:
TAN SHAO MIN IN A SKIRT (pls tilt your head) No uniforms don't count.
(The previous unthinkable thing was the both of us going into a roomfull of naked men and women. *wiggles eyebrows*)

*TA DA!* Now with simultaneous posts on diaryland and livejournal. MUNGMUNGMUNG WORX! Let us celebrate this momentous event with a really stupid thing that happened to me on Sat. ++++++ *on the way to west mall to return library books* (conversation translated from chinese) Random Guy: Hi! Me: Er.. hi! (peered closely incase it was someone that I was supposed to know, like a pri sch friend or something.) Random Guy: Can I have 1 min of your time? Me: Er.. ok (Being nice, if he's asking for donation for some charity and it wasn't a too outrageous amt, I would have donated) Random Guy: Ok can you see the girl in pink over there? *points somewhere obscure* Me: Er.. no? ( I really couldn't) *repeat sequence 100 times* Random Guy: Ok... anyway I need help for my final project, entrepreneurship module, I need a total of $60 or I will fail. What I need to do is sell worthless stuff ... etc (I'm sure this scam is familiar to almost everyone alr) *shows some twisted paperclips* Me: (out of spite) no. Random Guy: ?!?!?!?!?!?! Me: What's the school? Random Guy: Er.. private institution. Me: (exact words) Se mo ming zhi? (What name?) Random Guy: Er... I can't tell you my name but if you like we can exchange numbers later... Me:-___________________________-" I meant the school. Random Guy: Oh. Me: Er.. your one minute is up. Bye. ++++++ Anyway urgh I'm sick again - haven't been sick since the A levels. I dread to think of life without my pipagao. Mum tells me not to sing but I cna get credit for it so why not.
